Gold Star

Terms of service

Last updated: 2 November 2026

These terms apply to your use of Gold Star, a Google Sheets add-on provided by Ironbit Ltd (“we”). Ironbit Ltd is registered in Northern Ireland, company number NI729290. Registered office: 15 Longfield Lane, Desertmartin, Magherafelt, BT45 5NW. By installing or using Gold Star you agree to them.

Using Gold Star

You may use Gold Star for lawful purposes. You are responsible for the content of your spreadsheets and templates, for having the right to process and email the personal data in them, and for checking generated documents before relying on them.

Plans and payment

Gold Star has a free plan and paid plans (Teacher Pro and School), described at goldstar.school/pricing. Prices are shown before you pay. Payments are processed by Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled; you can cancel at any time by emailing hello@goldstar.school, and keep your paid plan until the end of the period paid for. If you change your mind within 14 days of first subscribing, we will refund you in full. A School plan covers staff with email addresses at the school’s own email domain; schools on shared systems (such as C2k, Glow or Hwb) are covered by a staff list instead. During the beta, all features are free. We will give at least 30 days’ notice before changing prices or removing features from a plan you’re paying for.

Google services

Gold Star relies on Google Workspace, Google Apps Script and Google APIs, which have their own terms and limits, including daily email quotas. We are not responsible for outages or changes in Google’s services.

No warranty

Gold Star is provided “as is”. We work to keep it reliable, but we do not guarantee it will be error-free or always available.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data, arising from your use of Gold Star. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Ending use

You can stop using Gold Star at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or end the service with reasonable notice where possible.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of Northern Ireland, and the courts of Northern Ireland have jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer rights you have where you live.
